Is the Hadith that mentions Ali's saying to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, "O Messenger of Allah, women are many, and you are capable of taking another wife, so ask the slave girl, for she will tell you the truth," then Ali struck Barirah after the Messenger called her to question her, authentic?

This context from the story of the Slander was narrated by Ibn Ishaq and authenticated by Al-Albani. Ibn Ishaq narrated it with authentic chains of transmission from A'isha, and Ibn Hisham included it in the Sirah. It is also found in a similar form in Bukhari and Muslim. Ali struck A'isha to ensure she would be truthful in her answer.
