Does divorce occur in the following cases: doubt as to whether the oath of divorce was limited to bringing the satellite dish and receiver or to not watching pornographic films, knowing that nudity clips were watched on the internet, and does divorce occur when a new receiver is brought with the intention of watching news, sports, documentary, and children's channels while canceling the aimless channels?

The majority of scholars hold that whoever swears by the triple divorce and then breaks the oath, his wife is divorced with a major irrevocable divorce, whether he intended to effect the divorce or merely to threaten. However, some, like Ibn Taymiyyah, believe that one who swears by divorce for the purpose of threat or emphasis is only required to offer an expiation for an oath (kaffarat yamin) and is not bound by the divorce.

The fatwa that is issued (al-mufta bihi) is that if you break your oath, your wife is divorced with a triple divorce, and the breaking of your oath depends on your intention regarding what you uttered. As for doubt about swearing an oath not to watch forbidden films, divorce is not entailed by it, and what is obligatory is to repent from watching them.

It is advised to present the matter to trustworthy scholars, and it should be known that the lawful oath is by Allah Almighty, and swearing by divorce is among the oaths of the dissolute.
