What is the ruling regarding a mosque imam who preaches against corruption, yet is then seen at a wedding party where there are objectionable things (DJ)?

An imam's attendance at a wedding ceremony depends on the presence of forbidden acts (munkarat): If there is music and mixing of genders, he must denounce them. If they do not respond, he must distance himself from the celebration. Jurists have stated that the presence of forbidden acts is a valid excuse for not attending a banquet. Imams must act in accordance with what they preach, but an imam's error does not justify abandoning the prohibition of evil. Congregants must benefit from the sermon, even if the imam is not infallible.
