Is the narrator "Mu'ammal ibn Isma'il" trustworthy?

Mu'ammal ibn Isma'il al-Adawi was truthful and strict in adhering to the Sunnah, but he made many errors due to his poor memory. This was because he narrated from memory after his books were buried, which led to the presence of objectionable things (munkarat) in his hadith, especially when he contradicted trustworthy narrators or was the sole narrator. Ibn Ma'in said of him: "Trustworthy." Abu Hatim said: "Truthful, but makes many errors." Al-Bukhari said: "His hadith are objectionable (munkar al-hadith)." Ibn Hibban said: "Perhaps he made mistakes." Al-Dhahabi said: "A hafiz (memorizer of hadith), knowledgeable, but makes mistakes." Ibn Hajar summarized his condition by saying: "Truthful, but with a poor memory." He died in the year 205 or 206 AH.
