What is the ruling on a dog that does not guard or bark, but rather eats leftover food, remaining on the roof of the house?

It is advisable to remove a dog that is not suitable for guarding, because its presence without need prevents angels from entering. This is based on the Hadith: "Indeed, angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image." This includes all types of dogs and any place referred to as a house. The dog can be replaced by raising a sheep that is given food scraps.
