Is disclosing one's illness and detailing it to others considered ungratefulness for God's blessings?
Scholars have differed regarding the ruling on a sick person speaking about what they are suffering from due to illness. The accurate view is that souls are naturally inclined to feel pain, and mere complaining is not blameworthy as long as it does not reach the level of discontent (tasakhkhut). Some scholars disliked the groaning and moaning of the sick, while others considered this view weak, citing what was narrated from Aisha and Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them both). The preponderant view is that a sick person speaking about what they are suffering from is not blameworthy, unless it is done out of discontent, but it is more preferable for them to occupy themselves with remembrance [of Allah] ().
