Is the marital home the exclusive property of the husband, granting him the right to dispose of it and admit whomever he wishes, while the wife is merely a servant with no rights therein?

The marital home is the property of both spouses, and the husband's right to it takes precedence due to his guardianship (qawamah) and care, whether he owns the house or rents it. The wife is a queen in it, and her home is her kingdom. She may allow anyone to enter whom her husband permits. The husband is not allowed to prevent her from bringing in her parents or her children from a previous marriage. The wife owns whatever furniture in the house belongs to her, whether she bought it herself or her husband bought it for her. If the house is her property, she has the right to dispose of it and allow anyone she wishes to enter. The husband's right should not be interpreted as authority, nor the wife's care as demeaning service, for both are guardians of each other, and both have duties and rights.
