Is it permissible to waive some marital rights, such as the right of Qawamah (male guardianship/headship)? And are marital homes built upon rights?

It is permissible for the husband to waive some of his rights over his wife, just as it is permissible for her to waive some of her rights over him, for if the owner of a right waives it, it is relinquished. It is the husband's right that his wife not leave without his permission and that she not allow anyone into his house without his permission. If he grants her permission for these things, there is no harm, provided that Islamic guidelines are adhered to, such as modesty, hijab, and not allowing unlawful entry of non-mahram men. Marital rights were legislated to organize the relationship between spouses based on affection, love, and mercy.
