What is the ruling regarding prayers missed during a coma, and is it permissible to perform ablution by pouring water over a medical boot while wearing a compression sock underneath?

If a sick person loses his mind, he is not obligated to make up the prayers he missed during that period. However, if he neglected prayers while he was conscious, he must make them up along with repentance. If the mentioned dressing is applied for a medical purpose, and there is fear of harm or difficulty from removing it, then it takes the ruling of a splint (جبيرة); one may wipe over it for purification (both Wudu’ and Ghusl) as long as it is needed. But if it is for other than that, then one wipes over it only for Wudu’ if it covers the limb, for a period of one day and one night for a resident, and three days and nights for a traveler.
