How is inheritance divided among four brothers regarding a house and an adjacent plot of land, with one of the brothers wishing to take the land in exchange for leaving the house to his three brothers? And is he entitled to a share of the shops located in the house if he takes the land and is paid the difference in the value of the buildings?

First, debts and bequests must be settled before distributing the inheritance. If the only heirs are those mentioned, the inheritance is to be divided equally among them, with each receiving one-quarter of the estate. Regarding the property and land: If the property cannot be divided, it can be sold and its value distributed, or some heirs can be compensated, or it can be left undivided and its income utilized, or they can agree on any division that suits them. As for the land, if its parts are equal, it should be divided among them. If they are unequal or small, it should be treated like the property. Any division can be agreed upon by mutual consent, such as giving land to the brother in exchange for his share, as the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "The property of a Muslim person is not lawful except with his willing consent." In case of dispute, the Sharia court intervenes.
