How can one respond to and deal with relatives who mock a woman wearing a niqab and accuse her of being an extremist, while fearing their abandonment and the severing of family ties?

A Muslim woman should not weaken or grieve due to people's mockery and criticism of her commitment to modesty and 'hijab'. Rather, she should increase in steadfastness and gratitude to Allah. A Muslim woman should be proud of her religion and elevated by her faith, and gently and wisely explain to them that modesty is a command from Allah Almighty, and it is a virtue that deserves reverence, not ridicule. For whoever seeks Allah's pleasure through people's displeasure, Allah will spare him the trouble of people; and whoever relies upon Allah - He is sufficient for him.
