Is it permissible to offer salutations to the Prophet, prayers and peace be upon him and his family, and to his two companions, upon seeing their graves on television?
It is stated in the Hadith that the soul of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is returned to him so that he may return the greeting to whoever sends salutations upon him, whether from near or far, or at his grave or in any place on earth. The Hadith is general, and the Messenger is informed of the salutation by means of angels. Therefore, there is no harm in sending salutations upon him, peace and blessings be upon him, when seeing his grave by any means.
