Who were the Prophet's commanders and officials who remained in their posts until their death, whether military commanders or regional governors?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, passed away while he had a number of princes and governors over various regions, among them:

1. Over the regions of Yemen and Hadramawt: Amir ibn Shahr al-Hamdani. Abdullah ibn Qays Abu Musa al-Ash'ari. Khalid ibn Sa'id ibn al-As. Al-Tahir ibn Abi Halah. Ya'la ibn Umayyah. Amr ibn Hazm (over Najran). Ziyad ibn Labid al-Bayadi (over Hadramawt). Ukashah ibn Thawr ibn Asghar al-Ghuthi (over the Sakasik and Sakun in Hadramawt). Mu'adh ibn Jabal (as a teacher in Yemen and Hadramawt). Ibn Badham (over Sana'a after the death of his father Badham). Khalid ibn Sa'id ibn al-As (over the area between Najran, Ram', and Zabid, then over Yemen after the killing of Shahr ibn Badham). Khalid ibn Sa'id's brothers: Amr (over Wadi al-Qura), al-Hakam (over the villages of Uraynah), Aban (over the city of Al-Khatt in Bahrain).

2. Over Makkah: Attab ibn Asid.

3. Over Oman: Amr ibn al-As.

4. Over Tayma', and it is said Najran: Yazid ibn Abi Sufyan.

5. Over Bahrain: Al-Ala' ibn al-Hadrami.

6. Over Ta'if: Uthman ibn Abi al-As al-Thaqafi.

7. Over an army heading towards Sham (Syria): Usamah ibn Zayd, and this expedition was dispatched after the death of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
