A conditional vow is disliked (makruh), and it must be fulfilled if the condition upon which it was made is met, unless one is unable to do so, in which case an expiation for breaking an oath (kaffarat yameen) is required. It is permissible to delay the fulfillment of a vow if no specific time was set for it, especially when there is a need for marriage. If a person fears temptation (fitna), it is permissible for him to prioritize marriage over fulfilling the vow if he does not have enough money for both.
