If they are forbidden, such as usurious banks, then it is not permissible to work in them, due to the Almighty's saying: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression," and due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) cursed the one who consumes riba (usury), the one who feeds it, its scribe, and its two witnesses," and he said: "They are all equal." However, if the company's activity is permissible, there is no objection to working for it, provided that one does not directly engage in what is forbidden or directly assist in it.
