How can money earned from restaurants that serve alcoholic beverages be purified, and what is the ruling on continuing in this work for a year or two out of necessity until another source of income is secured and a transition is made?
It is not permissible to sell alcohol or assist in its consumption, based on the hadith: "Allah has cursed alcohol, its drinker, its pourer, its seller, and its buyer." And the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah and His Messenger have forbidden the sale of alcohol, dead meat, and pigs."
Whoever sold it must repent and dispose of its price by donating it to the poor or spending it on general Muslim welfare. They must abandon this profession if it necessitates selling alcohol and work in a permissible profession; for Allah Almighty says: "And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect."
