Is it permissible to acquire treasures owned by jinn?

There is no harm in taking treasures found in ownerless land, for Allah Almighty says: ﴿It is He who created for you all of that which is on the earth.﴾ And for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "And in Rikaz (buried treasure) is the fifth." This indicates the permissibility of possessing them. What is rumored about jinn owning them and attacking those who try to take them does not justify leaving them. However, a Muslim should fortify himself with the remembrance of Allah Almighty and the necessary means to expel jinn. It was narrated that Zayd ibn Aslam ordered the call to prayer to repel jinn from a mine where they were harming people, and they did so, and that harm ceased. This indicates the jinn's fleeing from what the devil flees from. It must be noted that slaughtering at treasures to expel jinn is legally forbidden and may be shirk (polytheism).
