Is there a Sirat on the Day of Resurrection?
The Sirat (bridge) is an established truth, affirmed by numerous revelatory texts and agreed upon by the entire Ummah. It is a bridge set over Hell on the Day of Judgment, which people will cross according to their deeds. Many hadiths describe the Sirat as "slippery and treacherous," with "grappling hooks" that snatch people. The first of them will cross like lightning, and the last of them will crawl. Our Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, will stand on the Sirat, supplicating, "O Lord, grant safety, grant safety." Crossing the Sirat is the "entering" mentioned in the verse: "And there is none of you but will enter it. This is an absolute decree from your Lord."
