Is it permissible to use money earned from a newspaper distribution job—regarding which absolution has not been obtained from the company due to the inability to pay the amount—to seek absolution for previous thefts that can be repaid to their owners, knowing that he possesses no other money?

Your absolution from what you stole from your work's money will clear your conscience, but you must return the money you stole from the newspaper, no matter how much it is.

Initiate sincere repentance and free yourself from all injustices, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The hand is responsible for what it took until it returns it."

If the one who has the right to forgive at the newspaper forgives you, your conscience will be cleared. Otherwise, you are obligated to return the newspaper's right wisely to avoid harm, for the important thing is that the right is delivered.

If you are unable to return the newspaper's money, with sincere intention and repentance, it is hoped that Allah will settle it on your behalf, according to the hadith: "Whoever takes people's money intending to repay it, Allah will repay it for him."

And whoever dies with the intention of paying off a debt but was unable to, it is hoped that there will be no accountability for him in the Hereafter; rather, Allah will take care of it on his behalf.
