What is the ruling on one who knew and concealed the matter of adoption? And is disobedience to adoptive parents considered real disobedience? And what is the ruling on adoption itself? And what is the ruling on the biological mother who abandoned her child due to her illness and then returned after 22 years? And is her disobedience forbidden? And what are the duties incumbent upon a son after reaching maturity, knowing a person from his real family without knowing the kinship tie?

A man must change what is wrong and be attributed to his real father. The family that adopted him must repent to Allah and attribute him to his true parents, because adoption involves a legal error, even though they raised and cared for him well.

As for honoring the adoptive family, it is not like honoring real parents. However, they have a great right over him, so he must reward them with kindness, affection, and maintaining ties. Disobeying them is not considered like disobeying parents, but it contradicts repaying kindness and reciprocating good deeds with good deeds.

He must also maintain ties with his mother, be attributed to his father, and announce this to make his kinship and relatives known. He must also seek forgiveness for his adoptive father and supplicate for mercy upon him.
