"Sisters, brothers, and mothers by fosterage do not inherit from the deceased. Despite the established prohibition of marriage due to fosterage, not all rulings of motherhood apply to it. Thus, there is no inheritance, no financial support (nafaqa), no emancipation (itq), their testimony is not rejected (unlike that of biological kin in some contexts), no blood money (aqila) is paid on their behalf, and retribution (qisas) is not waived for them. In these rulings, they are considered like strangers."
