Is a husband entitled to compel his wife to cover her eyes completely and prevent her from leaving if she refuses, given that she does not cover her eyes completely and removes her gloves in the car to breastfeed their child?

It is obligatory for a woman to cover her face and hands from non-mahram men. A niqab that shows only the eyes is permissible. However, a niqab that shows the area below and above the eyes is not a valid [form of] Islamic covering. It is obligatory for the wife to obey her husband in her commitment to cover everything except the eyes, and the husband has the right to compel her to do so, because he is her guardian and is obligated to ensure her obedience to Allah. We advise the husband to be gentle with her and encourage her to adhere [to this], and if she insists on not adhering, he may prevent her from leaving the house.
