Is it permissible to recite the Qur'an with the intention of gaining reward for a Christian man?

It is not permissible for a Muslim to recite the Quran or perform any other act of worship with the intention of dedicating its reward to a Christian man, because the Muslim believes that whoever dies upon the Christian religion is a loser, eternally in the fire of Hell. This is as stated in Allah's Almighty saying: "And whoever desires a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers" (Quran 3:85), and His saying: "Indeed, those who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists will be in the fire of Hell, abiding eternally therein. Those are the worst of creatures" (Quran 98:6). Hoping for forgiveness for someone who died Christian, or for them to benefit from acts of worship, casts doubt upon the meaning of these verses.
