What is your opinion on someone who substitutes women's inheritance with gifts?
The pre-Islamic era (Jahiliyyah) prevented women and children from inheriting, but Islam came and abolished this, granting women a prescribed share. Depriving women of inheritance is a crime and an transgression against the limits set by Allah. Compensating them with gifts is not sufficient because it does not fulfill their legitimate right. The wealth must be transferred to them so that they can dispose of it. It is not permissible for the inheritance to remain under the control of men, forcing women to sell it or relinquish it. The sin becomes graver if the deprived woman is an orphan.
