The prohibition of obeying a created being in disobedience to Allah encompasses sins, polytheism (shirk), and whatever leads to them, due to the generality of the Muslim Hadith: "Upon a Muslim is to listen and obey in what he likes and dislikes, unless he is commanded to commit a sin. If he is commanded to commit a sin, then there is no listening and no obedience." This is what Ibn Hajar, Al-Nawawi, and Al-Manawi affirmed.
