The answer

"Praise be to Allah.

For two overlapping acts of worship, it is required that one of them is not intended for its own sake, such as the mosque greeting. Thus, it is valid to perform the pre-prayer Sunnah with the intention of greeting the mosque, to fast on the Day of Arafah with the intention of fasting the three days of every month, and to perform a ritual bath for the removal of major impurity with the intention of the Friday bath.

As for acts of worship that are adjunct to others, like the Sunnah prayers for Dhuhr and Asr, their overlap is not permissible because they are intended as adjunct. Likewise, overlapping sacrifice and 'aqiqah is not valid because they are intended for their own purposes."
