Time holds immense significance in Islam, for it is life itself, and its waste is a loss. Allah the Almighty has drawn attention to the importance of time in the Holy Quran by swearing by its divisions. The Prophet, peace be upon him, also emphasized its importance by saying: "There are two blessings concerning which many people are deceived: health and free time," narrated by Al-Bukhari, and by saying: "The feet of a servant will not move on the Day of Judgment until he is asked about his life and how he spent it," narrated by Al-Bukhari. A person's respect for their time is evident through their utilization of their time, their eagerness not to waste it, their avoidance of idle and heedless gatherings, and their organization of their time between worship, fulfilling rights, seeking livelihood and knowledge, attending scholarly gatherings, and not excessively sleeping.
