Is it permissible for the Imam to combine the salary of the Imamate with being an employee and having sufficient means?

It is permissible to receive a salary for leading prayers (Imamah) from the state, as it is a sustenance intended to assist in obedience, not a wage. The ruling does not differ between the needy and the self-sufficient. There is no objection for the Imam to take the salary, even if he is self-sufficient or employed elsewhere, as long as he performs the duties of Imamah.
