How can a person honor his parents while residing abroad, and is it necessary for the the number of calls between him and his wife to equal those between him and his parents?

Filial piety is one of the best acts of drawing closer to Allah. It has no fixed limit; rather, it is a broad door of showing kindness to them, delivering every possible good, and warding off evil from them to the best of one's ability. The means and levels of filial piety vary according to circumstances and customs. In a foreign land, filial piety involves bringing joy to them and warding off harm from them, such as: contacting them, checking on their well-being, connecting with them through money and gifts, and consistently supplicating for them. Equality in the number of calls between you and your wife is not a requirement; what matters is considering the parents' situation and fulfilling their rights.
