Is it permissible or forbidden to continue deceiving a female friend by claiming to practice magic—using plain water and perfumes—with the aim of mending her relationship with her husband and preventing her from resorting to real sorcerers, while taking money from her for this, and will the doer be rewarded for the effort he expends in reconciliation?

Practicing sorcery, dealing with it, and seeking it from a sorcerer are grave sins and a tremendous transgression. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, disassociated himself from anyone who practiced sorcery or had it practiced for them. The amounts of money the questioner took from the woman who goes to sorcerers do not belong to her because they were not given to her willingly. It is obligatory to return these funds to their owner by any possible means.
