Did three divorces take place after saying "you are divorced" once calmly during an argument, then twice over the phone – verbally and by message – with the intention of repeating the second divorce?

Writing an explicit divorce (talaq sareeh) is considered by some scholars to have the same ruling as uttering it verbally, and by others, to have the ruling of an implicit divorce (kinayah). If an explicit divorce is written and the intention is divorce, then the divorce occurs according to the soundest opinion of the madhhab. If there is no intention, there are two views: one is that it is explicit, so it occurs without intention, which is the soundest opinion of the madhhab and the view of most of its adherents.

However, if your intention behind your message was to inform your wife of a previous divorce and not to initiate a new divorce, then no third divorce occurred with that message. As for someone who says to a wife with whom he has consummated marriage: "You are divorced, you are divorced, you are divorced," with a pause in between, then it constitutes three divorces, whether he intended emphasis or not. However, he is believed if he claims he intended emphasis.
