Is there anything that indicates to the servant that his Lord is pleased with him?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Among the signs of Allah's pleasure with a servant is His granting them success in performing good deeds and avoiding prohibitions, as affirmed by His saying, the Most High: "And those who are guided - He increases them in guidance and gives them their righteousness" (Quran 47:17) and "And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways" (Quran 29:69). Another sign of this is the opening of one's heart to Islam, as in His saying, the Most High: "So whoever Allah wants to guide - He expands his breast to Islam" (Quran 6:125). And among the signs of pleasure and love is that Allah makes him beloved to His servants, as stated in the Hadith: "If Allah loves a servant, He calls Gabriel, 'Indeed, Allah loves so-and-so, so love him'... Then acceptance for him is placed on earth." As for a servant's abandonment of acts of obedience and avoidance of prohibitions, in addition to the constriction of their heart, this indicates Allah's displeasure with them.
