How can a woman persevere in prayer and continue with it, knowing that she used to abandon prayer for long periods to the extent that she does not know how to perform ablution (wudu), prayer (salat), or the number of rak’ahs?
We praise Allah Almighty for awakening you from heedlessness regarding abandoning prayer, which is a grave sin and a serious crime. We advise you to preserve it, for it is the pillar of faith. Among the things that will help you with this is to recall the severe warning for those who abandon it and the immense reward for those who preserve it. Furthermore, the company of good people, avoiding evil ones, seeking Allah Almighty's help through supplication, frequent remembrance of Allah and recitation of the Quran, acquiring beneficial knowledge, listening to admonitory lectures, and contemplating death and what comes after it, are all matters that aid in steadfastness in prayer.
