If the husband pronounces divorce, it takes effect. He may take back his wife as long as she is within her waiting period ('iddah), provided he has not divorced her three times. Marital relations are not permissible except after he takes her back. However, if he intends to divorce and goes to court but does not pronounce it, the divorce does not take effect.
