Is Allah Almighty described with forgetfulness?

Forgetfulness has two meanings: The first is to be oblivious of something known, and this is negated from Allah, as it is a deficiency that contradicts His perfection, in accordance with His saying, the Most High: "My Lord does not err, nor does He forget." The second is abandonment out of knowledge and intent, and this meaning is affirmed for Allah as one of His active attributes that occur by His will and wisdom, as in His saying, the Most High: "So taste [the punishment] because you forgot the meeting of this, your Day; indeed, We have forgotten you," and "They forgot Allah, so He forgot them."
