Will the prayer of a committed daughter be answered, even though her father takes unlawful money (bribes)?
Eating unlawful (haram) wealth is a reason for prayers not being answered. However, what you eat from your father's money, which is predominantly unlawful, does not incur sin upon you, due to your disapproval of it. Furthermore, unlawful wealth should be spent on the welfare of Muslims, and it is permissible for the poor to eat from it to the extent of their need. Similarly, the Prophet (peace be upon him) ate from the food of the Jews, and it is known that they consumed ill-gotten gains and took usury, yet he did not inquire about the source of their food.
