What is the ruling on a wife who requested a separation (shiqaq) under duress from her sister, even though the matter was clear to the court and the judges asked the husband to persuade her to change her mind, and he temporarily succeeded before she reverted to her position?

A wife is not entitled to seek divorce from her husband without a valid reason, based on the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: “Any woman who asks her husband for divorce without any harm (justification), the scent of Paradise will be forbidden to her.” The husband is advised to fear Allah, preserve his household, and seek help from righteous people to counsel his wife. If the reason for her insistence is instigation from her sister, then the sister should be advised and warned of Allah’s punishment.
