Is it permissible to supplicate before giving charity with a specific intention, and what is the ruling on consistently doing this action?

It has not been reported that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to supplicate after giving charity, unless the supplication was related to the acceptance of the charity or to being granted success for more of it. It is permissible for a Muslim to give charity before supplicating if he is in need of it, as this falls under the category of seeking nearness to Allah through good deeds, as in the incident of the blind man who asked the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to supplicate for Allah to restore his sight. Scholars have recommended giving charity before the supplication for rain (Salat al-Istisqa), as it brings mercy or is considered a means of seeking nearness to Allah. As for supplicating before giving charity, there is no basis for it, unless it is a supplication for acceptance and for being granted success for more of it.
