The Shari'ah commanded justice among children and prohibited preferring some over others. If the mother does not deal justly among her children, she is in the wrong. However, the right of parents over their children is great, and children must be dutiful to their parents, treat them kindly, and beware of mistreating them. They should advise their mother gently and respectfully, and ask her to be just among her children.
