Is it normal for some brothers to sleep in "trousers" that do not cover the 'awrah (the area between the navel and the knee) in front of their sisters?

The 'awrah (private parts) of a man, according to the majority of scholars, is what is between the navel and the knee, based on the hadith of Jurhad: "Cover your thigh, for the thigh is part of the 'awrah." Imam Ahmad and others held that it is only the two private parts (front and back), based on the hadith of Anas that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) "uncovered the izar (lower garment) from his thigh." What the majority holds is more cautious. It is not permissible for a man to uncover his 'awrah in front of anyone except his wife or what his right hand possesses, and "Allah is more deserving of shyness from Him," so they must cover their 'awrah and adorn themselves with modesty.
