The hadith narrated by Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about her visit to the grave of her brother Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr was narrated by al-Hakim and al-Bayhaqi, and authenticated by al-Dhahabi, al-Iraqi, and al-Albani. Its wording is: Aisha approached from the graveyards and said: "Whose grave is this of Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr?" So I said to her: "Did not the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbid visiting graves?" She said: "Yes, then he commanded their visitation." This hadith is evidence for the permissibility of women visiting graves.
