Is it permissible for a mother to pay her Zakat to her minor children, knowing that she provides for them from their father's pension and salary?

It is not permissible for the Zakat payer to give Zakat of his wealth to his parents or children, because giving Zakat to them would make them independent of his expenditure and relieve him of it, so it would be as if he paid it to himself. However, some scholars, such as Ibn Taymiyyah, permitted giving Zakat to poor parents and children if the Zakat payer is unable to provide for them, supporting this by the existence of poverty and need. Accordingly, it is not permissible for the questioner to give Zakat from her wealth to her children as long as they have what suffices them.
