Is the retirement money received by a father who worked in the military lawful (halal) or unlawful (haram), especially if he is the sole provider for his family?

There is no harm for a retired employee to take their retirement pension, as it is either a portion deducted from their salary, whose disbursement has been delayed, or a bonus from the employer. The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta was asked about a man from whose salary a portion was deducted for insurance and pensions, and after his resignation, he was given a monthly pension. The Committee replied that it is permissible for him to take the retirement pension because it is a reward for the service he performed.
