How can one offer advice to a husband who refuses his wife's wearing of the legal hijab, claiming reasons such as his social status, fear of his family's perception, his desire not to impose his opinion on her, or his granting her personal freedom?

This matter is based on two fundamental principles: The first is the reality of a person's relationship with their Lord, which means preferring obedience to Allah over desires and whims, and that Allah and His Messenger should be more beloved to them than anything else. The second is knowledge of the rulings of the religion, as a person may abandon a ritual due to ignorance or a misconception, thus requiring clarification of the legal ruling. When these two principles are combined, obedience to Allah is achieved. Therefore, efforts must be made to build these two principles within a person, by presenting faith in Allah and the Last Day and preferring the Hereafter over this world, and then clarifying the religious rulings, such as the hijab, with their legal proofs.
