Should a young man reject a religious and well-mannered girl, whom he believes is suitable for him, because of her skin color, in response to his mother's wish, or should he put his trust in Allah and marry her?

There is nothing in Islamic law to prevent considering beauty in a woman one intends to propose to, and it is among the motivations for marriage mentioned in the Sunnah. However, excessive pursuit of beauty should not be an impediment that delays marriage, causing a Muslim to miss out on benefits such as chastity. As long as the girl possesses religiosity, good character, and beauty, marriage to her should not be delayed in search of a more beautiful woman; rather, one should proceed promptly.
