What is the methodology for seeking knowledge that you recommend, and do you advise continuing to read books of Salafi creed and their commentaries while beginning to memorize the text of 'Umdat al-Ahkam?

We apologize for not being able to pass judgment on the aforementioned book, as it is outside our purview and requires examination. Listening to the lessons of scholars and reading books, and presenting what is unclear to people of knowledge, are among the most important means of learning. However, this does not dispense with seeking help from a shaykh and accompanying him, or joining an educational institution to avoid mistakes, as relying solely on books may lead to error. Furthermore, limiting oneself to books of creed is insufficient, for a Muslim needs to learn the jurisprudential rulings and to know the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and the Prophetic biography.
