The only way for a free man and woman to enjoy each other is through a lawful marriage. Milk al- (right-hand possession) applies only to slave women, and a free person cannot be owned or sold. The issue of lineage is critical and cannot be denied except through li'an (oath of condemnation). Therefore, one must avoid obsessive thoughts, adhere to chastity, and earn a living through legitimate means.
