What is the ruling on playing cards, and how can one be helped to abstain from it, and are there any supplications for that?

We have previously issued a fatwa regarding the ruling on playing cards under number: 30937.

As for specific supplications for abandoning playing cards, none exist. However, Allah's saying: "Call upon Me; I will respond to you" (Quran 40:60) is general and encompasses all types of supplication.
