Why do I consistently experience bad luck and setbacks in my relationships with people, even with those closest to me and those I help, despite my commitment to noble character and my faith?

A Muslim is advised not to resent the many blessings of Allah, and to look at those who are beneath him in blessings; for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Look at those who are below you and do not look at those who are above you, for that is more apt to make you not belittle the blessing of Allah upon you." One must make things easy for oneself, for patience and contentment with divine decree lead to good outcomes, while despair does not repel what is feared nor bring what is desired. Trials should not lead to despair; rather, one must strive to seek benefits, such as searching for a righteous spouse as long as it is within the bounds of the Sharia. It is not permissible for a person to boast to his Lord about his faith and good deeds, for they are a favor from Allah Almighty.
