Is the money that a husband earned as a gift from a client, for whom he performed a special service at the bank, forbidden or permissible?

Gifts offered to an employee by clients because of his job are not permissible for him, due to the saying of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: "Gifts to officials are ill-gotten gains (ghulul)." However, if the employer permits the employee to accept the gift, then it becomes permissible for him.
